If you've not seen it, it's a comedy/drama from BBC that takes place in Derry, Ireland in the 1990s and follows 4 girls and a guy through their misadventures. It's super cute and very funny.
One of the phrases they use a lot is "Catch Yerself On!", which means "get a grip" or "Don't be silly", along that vein. I created this pattern and knocked it up watching Tourist Trap (the horror movie from 1979).

I haven't framed it, but I'll probably just paint the hoop green and frame it up like that. This one is from the Facebroideries set.

I think I did okay for not really having done much hand embroidery in a while. While I do like to do embroidery, I think I just prefer cross stitch. However, I do miss doing embroidery now and then and I would like to get good at it again so maybe I'll do an embroidery for every few cross stitch patterns I do. I dunno. JigsawJoneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07540164973238510240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2575382814374746186.post-22557142733021384882023-10-23T12:29:00.000-05:002023-10-23T12:29:04.710-05:00Weekend StitchingJust couple of weekend finishes!
Our local stitch group, Austitch, had a meet-up yesterday, and I've never been to one, and since I found myself free, I went along. I chose a Cate Avnevski Facebroidery pattern and some cute fabric I got from Spoonflower years ago to work on, since I am between projects and wanted something that wouldn't take concentration of counting in case I wanted to converse. It was at a brewery and we sat outside. True to Texas, it was like almost 90 degrees on a late October afternoon. So I was only able to stand about an hour of sitting in that heat, even with a beer and shade. So I had to leave. I finished my piece last night watching Suspiria (the OG one, which is... just a really weird movie and watching it again, I was a little disappointed in it).
I love how it came out, and I'm happy with the colors and fabric I chose. I like to do a patterned fabric with these since a lot of them have a lot of blank space because I am not an embroidery painter- I am not spending 6 hours filling in large spaces with floss. And honestly, I think mabye doing these on patterned is sort of what the creator envisioned when she made these into embroidery patterns (not only because that's how I want to do them LOL but when she posted a picture of some she had completed, they were on patterned fabric as well).
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGUdaAS2V1XAG8Fd8_bkgyIV1JWibGsh3iE8IAtAYm02cVzHPTGU1mBib-N3JpgKZIdOQ6h_SXOFi4UKOhVEJnt9BohxoQGznWIsdrMeoTDHib7HFz0JatcLlZD-Io7b0XkU6SP1ZrNmMD4xdcCk8_Nw_HiXxVpr6XdkY-MNUCzg1N_GYAM0sBjr6ZGp6R/s664/10.22.23.PNG" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="320" data-original-height="664" data-original-width="520" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGUdaAS2V1XAG8Fd8_bkgyIV1JWibGsh3iE8IAtAYm02cVzHPTGU1mBib-N3JpgKZIdOQ6h_SXOFi4UKOhVEJnt9BohxoQGznWIsdrMeoTDHib7HFz0JatcLlZD-Io7b0XkU6SP1ZrNmMD4xdcCk8_Nw_HiXxVpr6XdkY-MNUCzg1N_GYAM0sBjr6ZGp6R/s320/10.22.23.PNG"/></a></div>
I also finished this one by PeachNeedlebyBrandy on Etsy. I stayed up way past my bedtime Friday finishing this one out while watching Judge Judy on streaming. It was a Stick N Stitch, which means the transfer stuck onto the fabric and then you wash it away when you're done. I didn't do very well with this one. Some of my stitches are wonky, there is space between them (which I find often happens when I am using the Stick N Stitch transfers- maybe because I can't see good enough to make sure the stitches are indeed flush against each other, I dunno), and the stitches are too short, and I don't like the wobby look it gives them. Oh well. I have to accept that I haven't done embroidery for YEARS and it's gonna take me a while to get back to the level at which I was before cross stitching became my main thing...

I have a lot of her patterns soooo...
I really love her take on the Alice in Wonderland Characters. I can't remember if she ever actually made any patterns out of these- she had a lot of cute illustrations that she didn't put into patterns, but that I downloaded so that I could stitch for myself, and I think these may be some of them.

It's been hard for me the past few years, having lost both grandparents that I was very close to within a year of each other, and they were always so very excited about Christmas. I can't think too much about it, or I'll get sad and I don't want to be sad, so I'll just leave it at that. Christmas makes me miss them, but I really try not to let it get me down too much, because they wouldn't want me to be sad at that time.
<br />
<br />
I KNOW. It is TOO TOO EARLY to start thinking about Christmas, because we haven't even hit Halloween yet. And I'm honestly only thinking about it because I wanted to get a head start on my holiday stitching. So, I made quite a few ornaments. I usually make one for my sister, one for my mom, and one for all of my friends, and I end up keeping a few for myself.
<br />
<br />
I did this one from a few different snowflake patterns I have. The fabric is sparkly, but the picture didn't pick that up :(
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbRJYNJz2Ukbx3FUR3gId9I91HE83aA-YDME3L31i4kKXX34x_vBauCWjzOJY9v3fpT9RkU4aYitY4JlvIHlyA-x951jOL4W2NGt-_7h0ZEoqSzcdlU8c-EZJRxqjVKYwHE0jSg2VausNZXcO-jtLt7yH9O1r7S0DEDKm7dXg6oD8yNX6QP7G7lN-T_ifl/s535/x1.PNG" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="320" data-original-height="535" data-original-width="502" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbRJYNJz2Ukbx3FUR3gId9I91HE83aA-YDME3L31i4kKXX34x_vBauCWjzOJY9v3fpT9RkU4aYitY4JlvIHlyA-x951jOL4W2NGt-_7h0ZEoqSzcdlU8c-EZJRxqjVKYwHE0jSg2VausNZXcO-jtLt7yH9O1r7S0DEDKm7dXg6oD8yNX6QP7G7lN-T_ifl/s320/x1.PNG"/></a></div>
The next couple are from a vintage pattern from PearlShoreCat on Etsy. These make me think of ornaments my grandparents had.<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH9oLZHHusIkOYC2qj8r1O2Lo43ISeyKSXAK8fxDNUEAe6Jg2I8EP8IS3M1fYRm52TZ8XKmbLE43VbAlZq7PLXZ4JbMRkBf4Ar5-1pIQXKerg8Cwe6YKfBGJ_c4eRXTxJgo11JI3yvIiS2K3Op57A_lSpjAViAM13kODhTp4L2y3qLgKCymhdlpaLT5al4/s736/x3.PNG" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" width="320" data-original-height="656" data-original-width="736" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhH9oLZHHusIkOYC2qj8r1O2Lo43ISeyKSXAK8fxDNUEAe6Jg2I8EP8IS3M1fYRm52TZ8XKmbLE43VbAlZq7PLXZ4JbMRkBf4Ar5-1pIQXKerg8Cwe6YKfBGJ_c4eRXTxJgo11JI3yvIiS2K3Op57A_lSpjAViAM13kODhTp4L2y3qLgKCymhdlpaLT5al4/s320/x3.PNG"/></a></div>

My husband and I are huge Seinfeld fans, and I like to do a little cross stitch for him now and then, so while I was at my ornament stitching, I did this one for him really quickly. He has it hanging on the wall by his desk :)

Some of the pics are blurry because this was still the time of digital cameras and so getting a good close-up was not my strong suit.
These are from a Japanese embroidery book. I made onesies and I made some burp cloths (eww).

Here are some cuties I've worked on in the past.
These are from Makoto Oozu, who is the master of tiny embroidery. I put them into pendants to give as gifts. <div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7C8ZXcObMRob_qZowls8Xax_RepFGKksSGDCxxgjneYkChBGylWCGOLcsfLhr6nkpz1j7U2yxehJ2CEHRdghezPoEpD83zvX5BQzKd85wopVbFCHgkpJ0PzRvYr0qqDWrbh8snH42eKPt2aPP9iOwkOCdWksVND9y3iK0q1oLms4AMhLxWt0ria_T5REV/s847/tin1.PNG" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" width="320" data-original-height="844" data-original-width="847" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7C8ZXcObMRob_qZowls8Xax_RepFGKksSGDCxxgjneYkChBGylWCGOLcsfLhr6nkpz1j7U2yxehJ2CEHRdghezPoEpD83zvX5BQzKd85wopVbFCHgkpJ0PzRvYr0qqDWrbh8snH42eKPt2aPP9iOwkOCdWksVND9y3iK0q1oLms4AMhLxWt0ria_T5REV/s320/tin1.PNG"/></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK-KyyIAoh0JPmDI_KFUW01Q21vmPxx4QXjeRQrtPPewCI6ng1rBzV7BHksXB0W83gMI4bpR1XBSUThsre0CwW2zbNc3vHAiIRCRCuUbhwpFXBMjOX7D70hz_E-uhg5b0OTvJehcQEYThTIr04i6eJlv7agaRMcdY8371RxZMntBLmbp6Ekuz9mFthszPI/s847/Tin2.PNG" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" width="320" data-original-height="834" data-original-width="847" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK-KyyIAoh0JPmDI_KFUW01Q21vmPxx4QXjeRQrtPPewCI6ng1rBzV7BHksXB0W83gMI4bpR1XBSUThsre0CwW2zbNc3vHAiIRCRCuUbhwpFXBMjOX7D70hz_E-uhg5b0OTvJehcQEYThTIr04i6eJlv7agaRMcdY8371RxZMntBLmbp6Ekuz9mFthszPI/s320/Tin2.PNG"/></a></div>

I grew up watching horror movies, because my mom is a horror fanatic. I also read a lot of horror novels (most of them probably NOT being what I needed to be reading that age). I love talking about them, discovering them, sharing them, and especially watching them while I do craft stuff.
<br />
<br />
I have hoarded many horror themed patterns, but here are some of the ones I’ve actually done, and I’ll credit the designer where I can.
<br />

“Sometimes, Dead is Better”- Pet Cemetery- StarKissedJade on Etsy

I had this pattern custom made aby PixelsInStitches on Etsy. This is from the first series and it captures the Angel Aziraphale with his flaming sword (that was "flaming like anything") and the Demon Crowley with the window handle to his 1928 Bentley, as they go to stop Armageddon (Spoiler, not sorry).

I have since stretched my wings and branched out into a bit more complex pieces. But here are some cute ones I did way back in the day.
I saw this quote somewhere and loved it, so I created this pattern using a cross stitch alphabet that I found online.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_Pw2_xFUypVmBL8X2PBrq0Mlm6OKBMO0FNNQhBgwouvpC7yf5_VM45xtrUpuSGvqcE0AOhCK2mkI-q1EQ-OjaeIQ16zeNKHIrpqwG_9l1SuOqAKtqXQYJPAzCRymLXs0tPC6mQVgglaQL6EBPcHyFMUFcovbqVbNj6nF5fkPS4nyePlq9C65idaBlguCA/s1035/1.PNG" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" width="320" data-original-height="855" data-original-width="1035" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_Pw2_xFUypVmBL8X2PBrq0Mlm6OKBMO0FNNQhBgwouvpC7yf5_VM45xtrUpuSGvqcE0AOhCK2mkI-q1EQ-OjaeIQ16zeNKHIrpqwG_9l1SuOqAKtqXQYJPAzCRymLXs0tPC6mQVgglaQL6EBPcHyFMUFcovbqVbNj6nF5fkPS4nyePlq9C65idaBlguCA/s320/1.PNG"/></a></div>
I copied this one from Pinterest but I had to alter it because the way it was created, it was obviously created to say "I never finish anyth" and I wanted it to look like a truly unfinished cross stitch.

I did this so long ago and I can't remember who created this pattern. I can't find the original on my computer. But it's 100% accurate.

I believe in gender/gender fluid equality, I am proud to be a woman, I am all about the divine feminine and women’s power, and you will often hear me talk about how men have so totally fucked us beyond any hope of repair..
Wow, I guess I sort of am a feminist, I’m just a bit more quiet about it. Anyway, I bought this book a couple of years ago called Really Cross Stitch by Rayna Fahey. The patterns are political in nature, which I didn’t actually realize when I purchased it, but that’s okay, because political cross stitch will always be a thing.
So far, I’ve done four pieces from this book. I kept two and gifted two.
This is my favorite piece from the book, and I wanted to do it for my sister, because, well. However, while my sister is one to stand up when she sees injustice, and of course is super into woman power, she’s not got the activist energy that my other friends do. So I did this one for my friend Liz.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyFjrD3pJrBC8p3uvEUkYAE9cxdDLMVvnfnehImOE0bx_ijyUYz01DLNis556JF7ixDVRSxqzAm78QMNaEIjMRHWW-9xtR5ePGo03EygVO5_e2-Qz4cvX7CYxT54rKFds9E9y0A7SACNvWdjIfgvSuIBSBBE2I0Mj7jld2_21zGPKWWOK7kLUOzpgD0SCV/s922/1.PNG" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" width="320" data-original-height="692" data-original-width="922" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyFjrD3pJrBC8p3uvEUkYAE9cxdDLMVvnfnehImOE0bx_ijyUYz01DLNis556JF7ixDVRSxqzAm78QMNaEIjMRHWW-9xtR5ePGo03EygVO5_e2-Qz4cvX7CYxT54rKFds9E9y0A7SACNvWdjIfgvSuIBSBBE2I0Mj7jld2_21zGPKWWOK7kLUOzpgD0SCV/s320/1.PNG"/></a></div>
I did this one for a friend, but decided to keep it because it’s from a show called Father Ted, and I think it’s funny. I did her another one…

This one I did for my friend Rebecca. She’s a Star Wars fan, and this quote has been stitched and plastered all over Genereal Leia merch. I love the sentiment, and I love how it’s associated with General Leia (she was my hero when I was a little girl), so I thought it was more appropriate for her than the other one, though I can totally hear her saying “Down With…This.. Sort of Thing..”

I love a lot of things about the UK. Their snacks, their accents, their sayings, their funny little ways.. and probably most of all, their TV. </p><p> <br>Steve Coogan’s Alan Partridge character has a special place in my heart. I think he’s so funny, so when I found this cross stitch pattern by 8bitNorthStitch, I knew I had to do it.

Another good British show that I could watch over and over again is Broadchurch. David Tenant is just… perfect, and so is Olivia Coleman. Oh, and Jodi Whittaker. I love them all, and that series was gut-wrenching and perfectly cast and acted. David Tenant plays Alec Hardy, a cranky asshole Scottish detective who obviously hates life. He has a few kind of funny lines, although the show is a crime drama and not a comedy, but one that stood out to me was “BLOODY TWITTAH!” Not because it’s funny, but because the way he said it was funny. I was making a cross stitch guy for a friend of mine, when I realized I’d accidentally made Alec Hardy, so I decided to keep him for myself and redo the friend’s design, and to add “Bloody Twittah!” under it. I made another that says “Millah!” because that’s what he calls Olivia Coleman’s character, and he just says it in a way that’s so mockable.
Also, since Twitter was purchased by a lunatic, and he renamed it, this one contains a bit of history too. </p><p> </p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br>

Finally, my two favorite alcoholic drug users- Pasty and Eddie from Absolutely Fabulous. I discovered this show in the mid-nineties, I think on Comedy Central. My boyfriend at the time told me it glorifies drug use. If he had watched it, he would understand it was meant to make fun of rich, shallow drug users, and that it did not AT ALL glamorize or glorify drug and alcohol abuse. I still love it.

These are not all of my British TV cross stitch pieces, and I have a lot in the pipeline too...JigsawJoneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07540164973238510240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2575382814374746186.post-20142409848493469412023-10-18T13:15:00.000-05:002023-10-18T13:15:02.360-05:00Scotland's Story I have always known there is a lot of Scottish ancestry in my family, but recently, I found out that you can trace our roots right back to Robert the Bruce, first king of Scotland and free-er of the Scots from English rule, and that our ancestry is 61% or more Scottish. I have always loved Scottish things and people, and three of my very favorite bands are from Scotland- Cocteau Twins, Teenage Fanclub and Belle & Sebastian. My favorite Doctor is also Scottish- Mr. Peter Capaldi!
We were also lucky enough to be able to spend a week in Scotland for our anniversary this year. It is the most magical place I have ever been. I cried when we had to come home. I cried this morning when I saw something I purchased in Scotland. I am homesick for a place I have never lived in! We will definitely be going back.
The point of all this is that I am very proud of my Scottish heritage and also that I found an Etsy shop called SonofaCrossStitch, and it has quite a few Scottish slang and insult cross stitch designs.

Now that I work from home, I have them hanging about in random places at home. I have a couple in my current office and I have a couple of gallery walls around the house, so they live there now.
Here are some of the cool pieces I used to have hanging up. BTW I suck at framing so...
This first one I did ages ago. It's a Subversive Cross Stitch pattern.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfVk1hETVWsSG_s3vKmAqGPZCFPkKjf_hIimIzKAG4LObXqABpBhOpHr9YNcMkbYVYxEvi2GvrgzT2NEet5-bGTv5aG7v4pI2fPt-rklNALg8wXGkh63yf4CHUHnSiy6e5UvDJ-UxeZh-txc4xNCDSg1s9Wjj3C33n9TCJHQdizK9KYVCYh20m_l2FVy0P/s870/1.PNG" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="320" data-original-height="870" data-original-width="659" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfVk1hETVWsSG_s3vKmAqGPZCFPkKjf_hIimIzKAG4LObXqABpBhOpHr9YNcMkbYVYxEvi2GvrgzT2NEet5-bGTv5aG7v4pI2fPt-rklNALg8wXGkh63yf4CHUHnSiy6e5UvDJ-UxeZh-txc4xNCDSg1s9Wjj3C33n9TCJHQdizK9KYVCYh20m_l2FVy0P/s320/1.PNG"/></a></div>
This one currently hangs in my home office. I found the pattern online but I can't remember where, and I added the words.

I had this one up in my cube at my Sears job and my former boss came in to talk to me. She told me to take it down because it was "inappropriate" *eye roll*. I took it down and then put it up when she left. My boss at the time said she loved it and when I told her I'd been asked to take it down, she told me she is my boss and I had to leave it up.

I'm back to do some more sporadic posting!
Lots has changed, again. But for the good! I got a MUCH MUCH better job than the one I had last time. Better job, better location (work from home), and MUCH better pay. I've been here for about a year and a half. I'm often quite busy, so I don't have a lot of time to blog.
However, I have had this in the back of my mind and I have wanted to pick it back up forever, so I will try my best! I have such things to show you...JigsawJoneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07540164973238510240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2575382814374746186.post-81114538829817839932021-11-17T18:18:00.001-06:002021-11-17T18:18:37.814-06:00Scranton's WNEP 16 News Backyard TrainThere’s a funny story behind this one. I was watching This Week With John Oliver a few years back. If you have watched the show, you know that they end the show with "And Now..."- they usually feature something that’s sort of quirky or weird or somehow just ridiculous. On this specific episode, he featured a train that was part of a Scranton, PA weather report every evening on their local news. The train ran in the background, and people either loved it or hated it.
People would call in and talk about how much they liked the train, or how stupid they thought it was. One guy called in and said the trolley was in the wrong place. Another guy called in, in response to that guy, that the engineer can put the trolley anywhere he wants to and “Shut up and go do your supper dishes!”. I laughed SO hard at that, for some reason, and of course… I had to make that into a cross stitch pattern.
The trains are from Makoto’s Mini Cross Stitch book. It’s hanging in our kitchen (which is no longer green).

I listen to podcasts a lot. I have about a half hour or more commute to and from work, and I listen to them at work as well. I recently discovered one called ScamGoddess. I love it. Lacy Mosley is the host, and she is HILARIOUS. I’ve listened to several episodes and have already planned a few pieces from her quotes. She always has a different co-host and, of course, talks about scams. Recently, I listened to one and she said “Rules are for OTHER people! Rules are for other people so I can do what I want.” LOL perfect. So I created a pattern and stitched this up for my husband’s aunt. I posted about it on FB and she was like “OMG can you please make me one?” It was a quick finish, I think it may have taken an hour. I just need to get it wrapped up good so it doesn’t break and get it in the mail to her. I’m very happy with how it came out and will likely be making another for myself.

I know a lot of stitchers use it, but it's hard for me personally to look at for long, because my eyes aren't great on up-close details, and it gives me a headache because of my football-shaped eyebawlz. Here's some madness I did in October of last year. They're super cute, yeah?

I made some wee needle minders out of a couple.

They are the cleverest daggone thing! When I realized I could make them out of covered buttons, I made a few!
This tree is from Wild Olive. Rather than a face, I did french knots to make it look more like leaves.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFEba5dSYKstxo2tGvMMhhpvBZ6gYqP0jd7ztpGVa0ym1vJMIM0aWM_kF7-sE6loaHdmP0zo3GTvh8LqPMR4I9AXez2TFuLNk1T3YJk9X58L6TMkdJtyL1Ghl2a-tK4P5BCmZnx2w_9FQ3/s400/tree.PNG" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="320" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="298" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFEba5dSYKstxo2tGvMMhhpvBZ6gYqP0jd7ztpGVa0ym1vJMIM0aWM_kF7-sE6loaHdmP0zo3GTvh8LqPMR4I9AXez2TFuLNk1T3YJk9X58L6TMkdJtyL1Ghl2a-tK4P5BCmZnx2w_9FQ3/s320/tree.PNG"/></a></div>
This bomb is another Wild Olive design, and the F is my addition ;)

Not sure I quite like how this one turned out. Another Wild Olive one with the XO added by me.

Wild Olive coffee cup. I kept the face added dots and circles.

I drew this one. I tried the wagon wheel for the flowers with black Etoile thread. I like the sparkliness but I think using such dark thread doesn't really show the detail. Also, I didn't realize that I didn't cover my pen lines! I'll have to be more careful in the future.

Karen and Georgia say the funniest things, and often, their quotes are made into cross stitch or embroidery designs by Murderinos. I did this small one a few years ago. I found this design on Pinterest with no credit and copied it, so if I find the artist in the meantime, I will come back and give them proper credit.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_n3AE_6iY4-hdaDTsdGx82Bpq5kzEOERpWA0f1viCdPHnJZTGlbsmphsQFpKQyVXbFaLPgn6QdAgiLErYLKm2hn8AHR02w-k6Xb0lAuY9gMHDjp9RjfZ3KejFdB_uPwjxNVvkuG4HEPxI/s2048/10-29-18+Finish.JPG" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="320" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_n3AE_6iY4-hdaDTsdGx82Bpq5kzEOERpWA0f1viCdPHnJZTGlbsmphsQFpKQyVXbFaLPgn6QdAgiLErYLKm2hn8AHR02w-k6Xb0lAuY9gMHDjp9RjfZ3KejFdB_uPwjxNVvkuG4HEPxI/s320/10-29-18+Finish.JPG"/></a></div>
I have since collected a few designs but haven't gotten around to completing them. I did, however, complete this one by Jager and Yarn (Etsy) last year.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS3YrlAhAxm3vdp6clgCf_-ZMFDGfP1mBCHsKsyR7JGCHCYIitVSPvFW1M2FlP5vP_5miM2nC7p7CkONZg_Z_Hwf0L6s7GeS5wWsgK-7a2QTEiwyy9eYH8O98ypL7CCk8QYvCpGRuV4ev5/s2048/11-22-21.jpg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" width="320" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS3YrlAhAxm3vdp6clgCf_-ZMFDGfP1mBCHsKsyR7JGCHCYIitVSPvFW1M2FlP5vP_5miM2nC7p7CkONZg_Z_Hwf0L6s7GeS5wWsgK-7a2QTEiwyy9eYH8O98ypL7CCk8QYvCpGRuV4ev5/s320/11-22-21.jpg"/></a></div>
My sister is also a murderino, so I made her this ornament last year.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhod_BnrXFwgaUPZn-6BP2J80XUwSwv6Y5UU24dq1IxvhHStgi0tdqSa44BlY7KwuPulZBOkGKqc8pa10Ur8bbxDSc_LOTBWZWrDdYUcxpt4z97PI7G8Y1d-ApjAcyzozSWDMOI0zcHvOZl/s2048/11-29-20.HEIC" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" height="320" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhod_BnrXFwgaUPZn-6BP2J80XUwSwv6Y5UU24dq1IxvhHStgi0tdqSa44BlY7KwuPulZBOkGKqc8pa10Ur8bbxDSc_LOTBWZWrDdYUcxpt4z97PI7G8Y1d-ApjAcyzozSWDMOI0zcHvOZl/s320/11-29-20.HEIC"/></a></div>
And I made this one for me.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhovOD-0aTrVaWRY0gvh4yDOCv23e4e1L2LZy7kJhKIzDXb1BfQ6nlDa-gHIJmgnMtfg4paqzPF9lAiOO0sLJh-RHWYOoTlrijcM2D41fk8ze16dU5DMpl7v-xKOW4-lI3E-NDdc24GvSny/s1953/5-11-21.JPEG" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" width="400" data-original-height="1609" data-original-width="1953" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhovOD-0aTrVaWRY0gvh4yDOCv23e4e1L2LZy7kJhKIzDXb1BfQ6nlDa-gHIJmgnMtfg4paqzPF9lAiOO0sLJh-RHWYOoTlrijcM2D41fk8ze16dU5DMpl7v-xKOW4-lI3E-NDdc24GvSny/s400/5-11-21.JPEG"/></a></div>
One day, maybe I'll stitch up my other My Favorite Murder quotes... maybe.

One of my favorite things to do is making pins and necklaces. These are my first ones pins, and I am still trying to get the centering down. I recently came across them in a bin where I have a lot of my finished projects.
This Domo-kun is one of the very first cross stitches I did about 10 years ago.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrFweAT2G2nQMgLCAMGQGson3pTe-2IDSprOVghuNbsSPjpybfKaVYiBXC1O3cTGUqWf5IPJydeV0d8_a9Set94f9NuTeAi2y00TiPgWDwBOOtMfe0qeZWEjuj5rce22xx-5taZeIwJl9t/s1434/IMG_E4800.JPG" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0; text-align: center; "><img alt="" border="0" width="320" data-original-height="1252" data-original-width="1434" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrFweAT2G2nQMgLCAMGQGson3pTe-2IDSprOVghuNbsSPjpybfKaVYiBXC1O3cTGUqWf5IPJydeV0d8_a9Set94f9NuTeAi2y00TiPgWDwBOOtMfe0qeZWEjuj5rce22xx-5taZeIwJl9t/s320/IMG_E4800.JPG"/></a></div>
I stitched this pizza and word bubble up as well. These are Teeny Tinies from the Wild Olive Etsy store. Her patterns are SO CUTE! She usually puts little faces on everything, but I left them off and added the "XO" to the word bubble and some veggies to the pizza.

I have had them up in my shop for a while but haven't sold a one. The algorithm or whatever Etsy uses, I guess, is fucked up, because when I search for my actual items, they never show up, so I'm sure no one is even seeing them. Maybe I'll try another site to sell on. Etsy sort of sucks for selling. </div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div> 1. Scissors fobs. These are meant for embroidery scissors because they're small and oftentimes go walkabout if you are stitching with a group. Or you lose them in the couch cushions and "find" them with your asshole later. I made a ton of these.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7d2RiNR1ti9V7bdje4mUQJHK2mPl5AghKsKD_mae7WtGihLOBj-i57P3G6cZ8b_CwUxBNPwju1Z79HZneAMnA9RxkzXencRQRg1x1YSgQI4qKaoKiIJh-m0Om6RUcYgU9l7WsQvxasOiy/s2016/IMG_7344.jpg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0px; text-align: center;"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="2016" data-original-width="1512" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7d2RiNR1ti9V7bdje4mUQJHK2mPl5AghKsKD_mae7WtGihLOBj-i57P3G6cZ8b_CwUxBNPwju1Z79HZneAMnA9RxkzXencRQRg1x1YSgQI4qKaoKiIJh-m0Om6RUcYgU9l7WsQvxasOiy/s400/IMG_7344.jpg" /></a></div>
2. Needle threader fobs. I can't see for shit in my old age, and so it's very hard for me to thread needles. I bought a 20 pack of some really simple, really handy threaders, and saw an opportunity to also make fobs for these. This is really handy for the same reason the scissor fobs are. I remember before I made myself one, I was always losing my threader, since it's so tiny. But with a fob, it's much harder to lose! I made this one to sell but started using it for myself. I love these things.<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBLY5cbrQ9DUTY_DepOnqY1V6kXo9ErOiuSsaYu9ZHDVSshv6xafRIWxTxAycNk7WgrgJvfE4HZaxk1-WBESTC-sSn7xdwbOgHn7SsOTse-RsB8ibXwqr43Qksp8LoURQBzg6hRSdCirki/s2048/IMG_7279.jpg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0px; text-align: center;"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjBLY5cbrQ9DUTY_DepOnqY1V6kXo9ErOiuSsaYu9ZHDVSshv6xafRIWxTxAycNk7WgrgJvfE4HZaxk1-WBESTC-sSn7xdwbOgHn7SsOTse-RsB8ibXwqr43Qksp8LoURQBzg6hRSdCirki/s400/IMG_7279.jpg" /></a></div>
3. Stitch pickers- basically these are long pins I stuck a bunch of beads onto. They really help when you need to carefully remove stitches you've messed up on. I love these.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxhmNRQZ_6nMS2ZhwJhDtYClPw95aeUQm7WlYTVLyFPbmv-TeA3SeYuhbVpdb4aZqSiYZ8LSa6HRe9OnHfextXm8x5kWlu81v8AsueF5CcgXvpGITxI5dGraMnPp-Iei4UOvwg9lOz5EVb/s1059/il_794xN.3186742547_3mbk.jpg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0px; text-align: center;"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="1059" data-original-width="794" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxhmNRQZ_6nMS2ZhwJhDtYClPw95aeUQm7WlYTVLyFPbmv-TeA3SeYuhbVpdb4aZqSiYZ8LSa6HRe9OnHfextXm8x5kWlu81v8AsueF5CcgXvpGITxI5dGraMnPp-Iei4UOvwg9lOz5EVb/s400/il_794xN.3186742547_3mbk.jpg" /></a></div>
4. Needle Minders. We have already discussed the badassery of the needle minder, and I sort of collect them as well as make my own.
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEga97WPOgtqMOdZmfc8ksKY1F4VYuwZwbVuRzh6AIenfkDYt6DANC54NwaOmm7cJbZ66NF8mZ8r1LkjSOFdw-PRi-48Ha6vCukqK7N-FBbQmzzYeClhcrYNEqXrSbec7WPfTirpCYKhmi49/s2048/IMG_7230.jpg" style="display: block; padding: 1em 0px; text-align: center;"><img alt="" border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1886" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEga97WPOgtqMOdZmfc8ksKY1F4VYuwZwbVuRzh6AIenfkDYt6DANC54NwaOmm7cJbZ66NF8mZ8r1LkjSOFdw-PRi-48Ha6vCukqK7N-FBbQmzzYeClhcrYNEqXrSbec7WPfTirpCYKhmi49/s400/IMG_7230.jpg" /></a></div><div><br /></div>I decided to open up submissions for the holidays. I used to do that and I really loved doing all the stitching, even if it was a lot of work. I haven't done that in a long time, and I had mild success with this sort of thing on Etsy a while back. It was a lot of fun! I did it on my terms as to not get overwhelmed and that worked out really well. So, we'll see if I get any submissions. If not, that's okay! (I bet I get zero submissions and then randomly during the year, I get tons. Like if I don't say specifically "I can do stuff for you!" people hit me up at the worst times..)</div>JigsawJoneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07540164973238510240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2575382814374746186.post-59314197356607319992021-10-28T09:09:00.000-05:002021-10-28T09:09:15.616-05:00This Wheel's On Fire...I'm sitting here listening to a playlist of MTV's 120 Minutes from 1991. That means all of these songs are at least 30 years old. I used to watch 120 Minutes every week- it's how I discovered a lot of the music I still love today. It's making me really sentimental...<div><br /></div><div>Anyway, I have four WIPs going. FOUR. I usually only have one WIP, because I hate to start another project before finishing another. This is a rarity.<div><br />
<div>The first one is from MamaWitchCrossStitch on Etsy. I love the pattern, but I wish I’d picked another color of aida, because some of the colors don’t really show up. Oh well. I have been working on this a little at a time for like two weeks. It’s going so slow and I kind of wanted to work on something else. It’s TOTALLY me, this is not a reflection on her designs because they are SO cool! As I type this, I've had a break from this pattern and I will probably pick it back up very soon.</div><div><br /></div><div>https://www.etsy.com/shop/MamaWitchCrossStitch?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=1042616322</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEyTTHrIO1PPDyFNhann9iq1jSbveaLmjBc3Mvd_ZWAzU_HH_wrtvbOITRi2ZLBMxlTVdap-RTppJ2A2_1X8hMwjuWDFRgeGNf1l02Cr4hrkOnxfZ73UIhyeh5NNuicvzfjNcex6j8_OmH/s4032/IMG_9471.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEyTTHrIO1PPDyFNhann9iq1jSbveaLmjBc3Mvd_ZWAzU_HH_wrtvbOITRi2ZLBMxlTVdap-RTppJ2A2_1X8hMwjuWDFRgeGNf1l02Cr4hrkOnxfZ73UIhyeh5NNuicvzfjNcex6j8_OmH/w300-h400/IMG_9471.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div> I stopped the mushroom rabbit to work on my Absolutely Fabulous piece for my friend. It’s gone pretty quickly. Here's Pats (I need to redo some of the leg stitches), and now I just need to get started on Eddie. The pattern is from 8BitNorthStitch on Etsy. </div><div><br /></div><div>https://www.etsy.com/shop/8bitnorthxstitch?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=920576695</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXmZMYySr2Ol_LOw-b3UplHm0a6ZeEyvdNGyUZ5XFFYxDL-IQUM4eVsgh7mmzwTh-9OpxspTzF3MX0Nbd8H5GmNfIJW8c6-4SgC56TaHlEGcwTE86ZuKWTqrDAbXN0fqXtEqTp5_Z3_GiB/s4032/IMG_9470.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXmZMYySr2Ol_LOw-b3UplHm0a6ZeEyvdNGyUZ5XFFYxDL-IQUM4eVsgh7mmzwTh-9OpxspTzF3MX0Nbd8H5GmNfIJW8c6-4SgC56TaHlEGcwTE86ZuKWTqrDAbXN0fqXtEqTp5_Z3_GiB/w300-h400/IMG_9470.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div> The third one is emabarssing because it’s been a WIP for like 3 years. It’s the Chopping Mall SAL from The Witchy Stitcher. When I started it, I didn’t have the patience to do it in one big piece, so I thought I’d just do each “store” and frame it separately. This is the first one released in the SAL and I'm actually not super happy with how it's coming along so far, so I'm not sure if I'll scrap it and start over or what.</div><div><br /></div><div>https://www.etsy.com/shop/WitchyStitcher?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=1009379392</div><div><br />

The last one is another face embroidery from Cate Anevski. I have been a HUGE fan of her work for years. I've done this one before but I wanted to do in another color. I need to redo some of the stitches, but really, I can finish this in no time, do I don't know why I just don't get on with it...</div></div><div><br /></div><div>https://www.beeskneesindustries.com/</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-ykwWtflrV9x0aLsrDuNAQnkEVjtgaitCH-kGxfqyEESV-wCKbxeWLCCCxPaGBITdhyphenhyphenywHOAVAohP_OXZnidn8ymookJwHst83TvfDgaGd8SM5R0GIptJpwPzg1pYxUzVfrrkQFt-0gKj/s4032/IMG_9472.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-ykwWtflrV9x0aLsrDuNAQnkEVjtgaitCH-kGxfqyEESV-wCKbxeWLCCCxPaGBITdhyphenhyphenywHOAVAohP_OXZnidn8ymookJwHst83TvfDgaGd8SM5R0GIptJpwPzg1pYxUzVfrrkQFt-0gKj/w300-h400/IMG_9472.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div></div>JigsawJoneshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07540164973238510240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2575382814374746186.post-80781499847425141322021-10-27T06:48:00.001-05:002021-10-27T06:48:48.767-05:00Keep Stitching WeirdI found an Etsy shop called OddAnaStitch.
