The IT Crowd Perler Sprites

Here are some pieces I've made of late.

I made Roy, Jen and Moss from The IT Crowd using larger Perler Beads recently.

Here's Richmond from The IT Crowd.  I'm trying to find or create one for Douglas and I'll make him next!

We don't deserve Bernie Sanders

Bernie Sanders should be the President of the United States.  He has been fucked out of the nomination TWICE.  It's infuriating.

Well, we do have Joe Biden now and we are rid of the orange fucktard.  Not to get super political or anything.

This picture of Bernie at the Biden's inauguration went viral.  He looks like he's pouting, but really, it's January in DC so I'm sure he was pretty cold.

Naturally, I had to make a sprite...I love it.  I made it at Amanda's last night and we all had a good laugh.  Poor Bernie.

The Many Faces (well, two) of Invader Zim

I was really wanting to do some Perler Bead sprites last night and decided I'd finally do my Invader Zim and Gir heads.  I used regular sized beads.  I think they came out pretty cute!

This is Zim as a human...

And Zim in his natural form.

No Lives Matter

Here's my latest Jason perler sprite! I made him from mini beads.

Demigorgon

I made this one for my friend Amanda's son Gino.  He is OBSESSED with Stranger Things.  It was really easy and came together pretty quickly.  I was really happy with him. He's made with regular sized beads.

We May Not Be The Young Ones Very Long

The Young Ones is amazing.  It's SO stupid, but it's just also so funny.  It's a British show from the early 1980s and starred Rik Mayall, Ade Edmondson, Nigel Planer and Christopher Ryan.  It was crass and punk rock.  It was absurd and poorly done.  It was subversive and unapologetic.  And I love it so, so much.  I got these designs from a website called Iotacons.

Here are my oung Ones Sprites.  Here we have..

Vyvyan Bastard (Ade Edmondson)

Mike the Cool Guy (Christopher Ryan)

Neil the Hippie (Nigel Planer)

Rik "The People's Poet" (Rik Mayall)

A Couple Random Perler Sprites (that I did not fuck up this time)

I used a guillotine cross stitch pattern from Night Spirit Studio for this guillotine.

And here is a skull couple from a Makoto Oozu pattern.  At least I was able to iron and not fuck these up... I'm still pissed about Spiderman.  lol

Spiderman Perler Fail

I purchased this Spiderman Perler Beads kit and worked on it for days.  I thought it would look great mounted on a big canvas.

It's a pretty big piece, as you can see... I tried to iron it and it fell apart.  I can't even bear to get a picture.  UGH!  I was so fucking PISSED.  Beads and time wasted.  I don't even know how people do these massive pieces.  I have seen a lot of different tips, so maybe I'll try them.  What happens is when I melt one side, the other beads pop up because the melted part is now smaller than the non-melted part and the little peg board on which the beads are sitting pops up.  I have seen some people say if you use masking tape on it and iron on top of the masking tape, it should work.  I may try that.  Or I may stick to smaller pieces...

SO FRUSTRATING OH MY FUCKING GOD.

Tiny Perler Sprites

Here is a collection of Perler sprites I made from mini beads this past weekend.  They are so fun to make!

We have tiny ghosts made with glow in the dark beads, an eyeball bow, a Hufflepuff bow, a tiny grim reaper, a tiny Batman symbol, a lego guy head, another tiny ghost, a Mighty Boosh face and a planchette.  I got all of these designs on Pinterest.

La la la la la.

I am Gen X to the T, and I love Daria.  It was another Mike Judge thing I didn't think I'd like.  I used to watch it late at night on MTV when I lived on Wallingstone with my ex and his family in Austin.  We had a little room and we had a big TV in there and I was always watching MTV.  I miss how they used to have actual videos. with a few actually creative shows like Liquid TV, Idiot Box, and Daria, rather than the reality bullshit they have now.

People always told me that I reminded them of Jane because I dressed like that and my hair was like hers for a while, and I'm a sarcastic asshole.  LOL I always took it as a compliment!

I recently watched Daria and.. well... it doesn't really hold up BUT it still holds a special place in my heart because I am the most nostalgic asshole I know.  I made these late last year and then stuck them on a canvas I painted using E-600 glue yesterday!

Friendly Faces Everywhere, Humble Folks Without Temptation...

How cute are these South Park heads?  I made them from mini beads for my sweet husband on Sunday.  I plan to make the rest of the characters as well.

Ineffable Husbands

I have this ornery/contrary nature.  If someone is going on and on about something, and several people are like "YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS!" or it's all anyone is talking about, I become very uninterested.  I was like that with Game of Thrones and Sandman, for example.  So I wasn't really interested in Good Omens.

Allen decided to start watching it and I was doing some cross stitching but became interested almost immediately.  It's so good, and the characters are so cute.  I just adore Michael Sheen and David Tenant and their banter in this show is just perfection.  And now I am obsessed with Good Omens!

I have a cross stitch pattern for Crowley and Aziraphale so I made this cute little canvas! Crowley's skin is a little dark, but I think it still works.

Harry Perler

I went to Amanda's last night and they had this Harry Potter perler kit to try out, so I got right into it!

They're so cute.  I made a Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw shield because I am a Hufflepuff and Allen is a Ravenclaw.  I played around with melting again but decided I still like the less melted look.

I Want to Believe

I loved The X-Files back in the 90s. I remember when it came out and I think we were briefly in Canada at the time, and it was always on and talked about but I never watched it.  Then when I actually sat down and checked it out, I loved it! So when I found this on Pinterest, I had to make my own!

I wonder if they will ever admit that aliens are here...

Horror Perler Art

I made these this weekend.  I love to make horror movie perler beads and then came up with the idea to mount them on blood-spattered canvases (that I made).  Can't wait to do more. Maybe I can make some for my sister...

And of course, Michael Myers from the Halloween series

Sublime Stitching Ornaments

I love Christmas stitching.  It's so cozy and makes me really excited for the holiday!  Here are some Sublime Stitching ornaments I stitched up!  Some are going to my mom and I'm keeping some as well.

I worked on these at my parents' house since i was there for Thanksgiving, which for my family, is the official start of the Christmas season! I love some holiday stitching in the forest!  They remind me of some of the ornaments we had when I was a kid.  I am sure most of those are broken at this point...

This is my attempt to revive this blog.  I haven't done a lot of crafty stuff this year because it's honestly just been sort of a rough year.  Well no, actually, that's not true.  I have made a ton of paper beads.  That's basically all I've done!  I'll have to get some pics and post them.  I find rolling them to be very calming...

Anyway, I did these cute cute little stitches from Wild Olive's Teeny Tinies!  I did some of these on Halloween, and then made pins out of them last night.

Tiiiiiny Stitches

Now and then, I like to drive myself crazy by stitching on 18ct Aida. I know a lot of stitchers use it, but it's hard for me personally to look at for long, because my eyes aren't great on up-close details, and it gives me a headache because of my football-shaped eyebawlz. Here's some madness I did in October of last year. They're super cute, yeah?

I made some wee needle minders out of a couple.

Stitched Shroom Pendant

I've been making these cute embroidery pendants and thought I'd try my  hand at my own design.  What do you think?

Itty Bitty Mushrooms

Look at these teeny tiny mushrooms!  I think I used 16 ct aida for these.  They are so cute.  Here is a pic of some embroidery scissors for scale.

I made a little button needle minder using these cuties.  I love how it came out!

Plants V. Zombies

I would love to make all of the plants from the Plants V. Zombies game.  For now, here is the Peashooter.

Cats Welcome, Humans Tolerated

Here is a random piece I made for a friend and didn't end up giving it to her because there was some schmutz on it.  Instead, I gave her another cross stitch I did, and kept this one.  This was back when we still had cats :(

Pattern by 1906Monsters on Etsy.  I sort of personalized it to my friend's cats but.. now they're just cute little cats.

Skull Ring

I made this cool ring.  I don't know, I just felt like seeing if a little cross stitch hoop would look ridiculous as a ring.  The answer is yes, but I do love ridiculous things.

Mini Stitches

Here are some mini stitches I did earlier this week.  I hung them up near my desk, and got a pic of them all.  Then I decided to send some to my sister so I didn't get a close up of all of them before I packed them up and mailed them.

A very blurry pic of some gothy mini stitches I did.  I found the patterns on Pinterest.

Small and Scary

I have made a few more little horror minis.

I had the idea of making these bloody hand prints when I came across a pattern for baby handprints.  It is very Blair Witch.

Then I wanted to make like a pin or a pin cushion or something, so I stitched another one up and used a bottle cap.  It kind of came out okay but kind of not... but I did keep it and I may one day actually put a pin back on it.

I also stitched up this little knife I came across and made a pendant.

Tomb Sweet Tomb

I did this one from The Witchy Stitcher last night.  Not sure if I'll keep it at work or home, but I really love the little font.

I'm a Very Neat Monster

I found these Dexter patterns by Alicia Watkins on Etsy and snatched them right up!

This is the only one I've done so far but I love it!

Spooky Stitches

Here are some pieces I've done recently!

Look at this little Michael Myers!  The stitches look shit because the glass on the frame is smooshing them  Boooooo!  I think I yanked the pattern for this one from Pinterest.

Leatherface!

I don't like how this one came out.  It's from The Witchy Stitcher and it's actually not the entire cross stitch pattern.  I think I was being lazy and just stitched up the words only.  The pattern is fine but I framed it in this stupid frame that doesn't work at all for it.  I think I hate this frame...

I know I found this one on Pinterest and just copied it myself.

Das ist alles!

2014 Got Away From Me!

I didn't do a lot of embroidery or cross stitching in 2014, so I didn't do any blogging at all.  So,  here I am to make up for it.  Here are a few pieces I completed in 2014!

I downloaded this pattern of little Totoro with a sack!  I finished it in October of last year.

It must have been this Dia de los Muertos girl Cate Anevski released that made me want to embroider again.

Anyway, let's see what I get up this  year!

Three Skulls, Deedle Dee Dee

I haven't been doing a lot of embroidery lately.  I've been focused on cross stitching.  Therefore, I have gotten out of practice.

I saw this cute pattern and downloaded it.  Then I stitched it up for a friend's daughter.  However, I really don't like how it came out.  I don't think the stitches look very nice and so I don't know what I'm gonna do with it.  I REALLY hate to throw out projects, even if they're bad.

Witchy Stitches

Here are some cool pieces I've done recently. They are both Urban Threads patterns.  I stitched these up on a trip to Louisiana to see my husband's family.

Harry Potter and El Snitch de Oro

I did this one a while back.  I can't remember when because for some reason, I didn't get a picture of it.  I came across it and took a pic recently, so thought I'd post it since I've sort of neglected this blog and I feel bad about it.  Not that many people read it, but it's still fun to do.

This is a Dia de los Muertos inspired Harry Potter with a Golden Snitch.  I did it on a handkerchief and for some reason, in redwork.  Maybe I was seeing a lot of redwork here and there.  An acquaintance of mine designed this for a tattoo, and I loved it, so I downloaded a pic of the design and stitched it up!  Maybe that's why I didn't post it- I may have been worried she'd get mad about it.  But I just LOVE it and couldn't resist stitching it up.

I think I did this one when we lived in our bigger apartment in the Chevy Chase apartments.  That would have probably been 2011 or maybe last year, but I wanna say it was early 2011.
