Things in Pixels

I may or may not have undiagnosed ADHD... maybe not but I am the poster child for hyperfocus.

Right now I am hyperfocused on making perler bead sprites and on diamond painting.  When I am hyperfocused on stuff, I like to watch YouTube videos about what I'm doing, even if I know how to do it, but I haven't really been able to find one about perler beads that I like.

However, I found Diamond Painting Jim on YouTube a few years ago and I like that one.  It's almost like diamond painting ASMR, though I'm quite sure that's not what he intended.  There are a lot of unboxing videos and he also gives tips and tricks, but his voice is very soothing, and when he unboxes stuff, there is a lot of crinkling and and other noises.  And I love how in the background of his videos, you can see the more recent paintings he's done.  He's a Scot living with his American wife in Copenhagen, so that's interesting in and of itself.  How did they find themselves there, and where can I sign up to live in Denmark??

I also love Rachel Rae's videos.  She does a lot of "Wipnchats" where she just talks about her day and her camera is focused on her working on a WIP diamond painting.  I dunno, I like things like that.  Maybe I'm a weirdo.  She also has some great tips and tricks, reviews on canvases, and unboxing.

I got off track... anyway, I spent all weekend making perler sprites and working on some diamond painting.  I kick around the idea of selling these but I am not sure if there is a market for them.  I think about selling them and asking if the person wants a magnet, pin or hair clip and going from there, but I do remember how much I hated selling on Etsy before and how little I sold versus how much I had to pay Etsy and between Etsy and their terrible shipping calculator (so I never charged enough for shipping), I lost more than I made and I don't have a ton of money to lose!  Anyway... I loved making these.  That dang frog... I made him twice before and each time, for some reason, the beads wouldn't melt on the bottom only and so he didn't work out.  This time, I got him!  I have made the Tardis bows in the past, but made some again because I felt like it.  I really love making these.  I have a box full of them.

I finished the last three of my Paintgems Black Magic diamond painting kit.  These kits are great.  They come with really nice supplies.  I just really don't like using the square gems/drills.  I am not great and placing them straight.  The round gems/drills are more forgiving because since they're round, they're never crooked in a space.  I have several more in the tattoo pack, and I have a mystery pack I haven't even opened.

I finished this one a while back, when we still lived in Hutto, so over a year ago, and I can't remember if I posted it.  It's from a kit of mandalas I got at Michaels and it has the round gems.  I found it among my Black Magic finishes.

I am currently also working on a larger diamond painting.  It's doves and flowers in a retro 70s style and it's really cute.  I'll get a pic when it's finished.
