Today...

I made this owl. I think I will use felt for the eyes on the next one. I just loved the color of this fabric too much not to try it out!

My cat did not make friends with this owl.  Bathing was much too important.

I also made this amazing pizza.  I know it's not really crafty, but it was really good.  It's on a piece of whole wheat pita bread.  I sauted some mushrooms and garlic in olive oil,  and brushed a little olive oil on the pita bread.  I then sprinkled it with oregano, basil, and low fat parmesan cheese.  I put some organic pizza sauce on it, then some low fat mozzarella cheese.  I topped that off with black olives and the sauteed mushrooms.  It was amazing.  YUM.

That's all for today!

New items up in my Etsy shop!

Just posted some more soaps!

A snag in my plans presents itself...

I tried to make a cute hedgehog pillow last night and failed miserably.  I made the spines way too skinny, and they didn't stick up.  They just fell over and it looked bad.   I was bummed because I wasted fabric, and very discouraged.  However, upon waking, having a delicious black bean and avocado breakfast taco, and indulging in some light retail therapy by stocking up on antibacterial soap (7 for $20 at Bath and Body Works!  Today's the last day if you wanna get in on that), I realized that the fabric is not wasted.  I can use it to stuff a NEW hedgehog pillow that will not turn out as a disaster!  Irritation neutralized.

First weekend project

I redid my bathroom a little bit.  I cut out some bubbles, clouds, and rain drops from fabric and Modge-Podged them onto my bathroom wall.  They look really cute.  Our walls are textured, so that's why it looks all knobby under the cut outs.  But I think they look awesome.  I just need to figure out what I wanna do with those ugly linen closet doors.  I rent, so I can't paint them or replace them.  But here's what I've done today!

Many, many projects!

It's been a while since I posted, so I thought one was due.  I have been working on stuff around the house, so I haven't really done much crafty stuff.   However,  I do have a list of projects that I think I will share.

1.  I will make some cute hair bows.  I made one at work today.  Sorry for the dark picture, it was taken with my phone.  This bow is tiny, about 2 inches long,  and I used some very cantankerous fabric to make it.  I will use some better fabric next time and make some really good ones!

2.  Learn to make granny squares.  I don't know why I feel the need to learn this.  I just feel like it may be very important in the future.  I suck at crocheting, so I will probably suck at that, too.   And I HATE knitting.

3.  Learn some new embroidery stitches, namely chain stitch, blanket stitch, stem stitch, and lazy daisy.  I think then I will have them all down.

4.  Redecorate my bathroom.  I have cut some cute Red Velvet Art-inspired clouds out of some blue fabric and out of some gray.  I also did some rain drops and bubbles.  I will Modge Podge these to the wall in the bathroom.  I'm really excited about this one.

5.  Silhouettes of me and Allen- I borrowed this idea from a girl called Allie that I met on Facebook.  I  bought two wooden placards from Hobby Lobby, on which I will attach scrapbook paper and silhouettes I will cut out of me and Allen.  Dunno where they'll go yet.  Here's Allie's version of her man!

6.  I have two paintings of trees I wanna do.

7.  I am going to make Allen a painting for Valentine's day.  I loves him.  He's my favorite thing ever.

8.  Check out the quilling page that Denise left a link to for me in my quilling post.

9.  Pillows!  A lady at work bought the Doodle Stitching book from Aimee Ray.  I borrowed it (this book WILL be mine!!), and found a pattern for a raccoon and I think a squirrel.  I'm gonna enlarge them and make cute pillows for my friend's adorable baby Bella.

Isn't she cute???  Awww.  I don't even like babies, but I LOVE her.  And I love making things for her!
I also wanna make a few for her beautiful mom, and my good friend, Elizabeth.  And a couple for her other daughter Juliette.  These hedgehogs are some I want to try from www.threadbanger.com!

10.  I found a tutorial at http://skunkboycreatures.blogspot.com/ for a cute collar that I would like to try out.  I dunno if it will work, or even look good on me, but Imma try it!

Okay,  so there's my sort list right now.  I plan to do much of this over the weekend.  I'll post photos as I progress!

Difficult soaping

Here is another soap project from the book SoapyLove.  It was particularly tricky for me.  I think I just need to learn patience- I always want to take the soap out of the molds before it's completely done.  BUT,  I finally got them the way I wanted them!  Here they are.  Sorry if some of the pics are blurry, I just really suck at taking pictures!  These will be in my Etsy shop (except for the last one, of course) this week!

Quilling continued

Here are some things I've made the past couple of days!

Here is a boat scene I made.  I will make changes on the next one, like make the sails a little bigger, but I think it turned out great for something I just came up with!

Here is a chicken and some cherries.

Here's a hermit crab.

Whale, bug, and butterfly

And here's my favorite!  The picture doesn't do it justice.  It's a sheep!

Quilling

I was editing my entire blog, and just realized something- I never posted any photos of my adventures in quilling!  Welllll.  Here ya go!!  And I'm gonna make a second post to show you my newer stuff!

Made some new soaps

Made some new soaps!

These are also cucumber melon scented. They're 3d, in that the embeds stick out of the soap. That was kind of an accident, but it looks cool anyhow. I'm selling them really cheap on Etsy because they're an accident. But I think they look nice! Here they are all cut up!

And here they are all wrapped up to send out.

Man, I can't tell you how excited I am to get all of my new soap supplies!

And here's the other camera I just embroidered.

More to come, too.

Grr.

Soap making tip- do NOT buy the Life of the Party kits from Michael's or Hobby Lobby. The soap is shit. The white soap doesn't set up properly and is very sticky. The instructions do not help you to make the soap pictured on the box-they're basic instructions on how to melt and color the soap. The mold is sort of cheap (I've already bent mine so that I have to put something on top of the mold to hold it down flat). It also does not work well with cookie and fondant cutters- again, the white wants to stick to the cutter. The colors and scents are okay, the clear soap is okay, and the cutters are okay, but they're not worth $20. Luckily, I only spent $10 because I had a coupon.

You're gonna get sick of seein soap.

Here's one that I'm really proud of. I messed it up the first time, but then learned from my mistakes, and made this one! It's a good thing I can reuse the soap. Otherwise, I'd be wasting a lot of it.
More hearts

And here are the orange skulls for my sister's skull set.

I have a LOT of ideas for more, but alas, I have run out of soap! Or just about. So, as soon as I restock, I'll post more. I'm also going to sell some on my Etsy shop, if I haven't mentioned that already. Projects I have in mind- sushi soap, more hearts, stars, more stripey soaps, and a redo of the snail. OH! And I found some really cool cookie cutters I thought I'd lost- Hannukah and alphabets! So, stay tuned.

Snail. I moved him before he hardened all the way, so he's got wrinkles. :( But when I do others, they're gonna be WAY cute.
