Yee Haw!

Well, it's the last day before our Thanksgiving break and I am having a hard time concentrating at work.  I'm just ready for a nice 4 days off and to eat good food and to decorate!  I may start decorating my office today, at least put the little Yule tree up!

I saw something about people in North Carolina running ICE agents into the woods because they are tired of the bully gestapo coming in and harassing and abusing American citizens due to the color of their skin.  It's wild this is happening in the US... anyway, someone said they couldn't think of anything more "Yee haw, fuck the law!" and I love that phrase, so I made a cross stitch pattern and stitched it up yesterday.

I'm quite happy with it and I think it will definitely get a frame and be displayed somewhere!  I have those Command velcro strips I can use to hang things on the wall without damage, so I think I may use those to hang up some of my pieces in my office.  I don't want to cover the walls again, because the walls in here are so nice and it's a small room and I don't want it to feel cramped, but I'll put a few up anyway.

No Kings!

I got this pattern from Subversive Cross Stitch and was amazed at how fast I was able to stitch it up!  I did this on Saturday, June 14th, which was the date of the first No Kings rally.  They had a little one in Coldspring!  I drove through and honked at them in solidarity on my way to the store.  Allen had to go to Hutto to take care of some things on the house and we are sort of taking turns now because we are sick of driving back and forth almost every weekend.  So it was his turn!

It makes me proud that 5 million Americans across the country protested the current regime, and let a certain someone know we are not standing for a leader who is trying to act like a king.  We haven't had a king since 1776 and we're not gonna have one now.  There are more planned for the rest of the year.

Anyway, this is a collaboration of Subversive Cross Stitch and Very Cross Stitching.  There are some patterns by Very Cross Stitching in my 2018-2019 posts.  I love them :)

Yesterday was Father's Day and we took Dad to Huntsville to a huge antique store.  He LOVED it.  Then we went to the CAT Cafe in Huntsville and had some drinks and a snack.  Mom drove us around a little because Dad wanted to see a few of his old haunts.  We went home and then went to El Burrito, but Allen stayed at home.  But it was wonderful to spend Father's Day with my Dad and to see him enjoying the antique mall, driving around, etc.  Happy happy days!

A little catch-up- Cross-stitch is political

It's been a few since I posted.  I've been busy with just... life stuff.  I've still found time, however, to do some great cross stitch pieces!  These are larger than the ones I  usually do so they took me longer.  I get easily bored and distracted so I usually stick to smaller pieces, and if I do a bigger one, I take time in between with smaller ones.

It's not that these were super stitch heavy or anything but a couple were like physically larger than what I usually do.  I had been eyeballing this for a while and I finally pulled the trigger, purchased it and completed it.  The pattern is by CeresAndSun on Etsy.

Another one by CeresAndSun, and a bit smaller.  It's something I live by and I love a good blasphemous stitching project.

It's been nicer outside lately, and so I have been cross stitching on the patio as well.  I love cross stitching outside.  I love being outside when it's not stupid hot (it's almost always stupid hot in Texas).  I've been spending a lot of time on the patio and though I would bring my stitching along.

And here is the finished project from that patio pic.  It's a quote by Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez.  She should be our president but... oh well.  A Republican interrupted her during a meeting and made a disrespectful comment to her.  He continued to shout over her, and another one shouted at her, and over her, and asked her to yield, she responded "I will not yield to disrespectful men".  A role model for all women!  Pattern by WyldXStitch on Etsy.

Enjoy the bad stuff you wished on others!

I am not gonna get super political, but I am seeing a lot of people who voted a certain way, against their best interests because they thought bad things would happen to the people they don't like, but it's happening to them... and they sold us all out because they wanted bad things to happen to marginalized people, and didn't think it would ever happen to them... but it is.  And I take evil delicious joy in this.

For them, I have one thing to say...

I Must Stitch!

It's already April!  Time has really flown this  year.  I've been doing a little better mentally, and have actually been cleaning up the patio so I can spend more time out there now that it's warming up.  I love Springtime!

This past weekend, I got to spend with my sister from another mister.  Her name is Adrianne but everyone calls her Anan.  I went to pick her up in Huntsville and we hung out with my parents all day on Saturday up into the night, just talking!  My dad built a fire and we sat around it for a few but it made me sleeeeeeepies so we went back home and Anan stayed the night at Mom and Dad's.  I took her back to Huntsville on Sunday and then we spent Sunday doing adulting- grocery shopping, laundry, etc.  It rained this weekend, which was nice.  I just love rainy weather and there isn't much like a nice spring rainstorm in the woods!

I saw this pattern on Instagram, and knew I had to do it.  It's so cute, and so true- stitching makes the horrors go away temporarily.  The pattern is by Beetleandthreads on Etsy.

And just look at this herb harvest!!  They are so happy out here.

Val Kilmer and my Uncle Leon died last night. My dad’s cousin Lori’s birthday was also yesterday so that means her dad died on her birthday which is terrible. :( I always loved Uncle Leon when I was a little kid. He was fun. As I got older, I didn’t see him as much but I always thought it was cool how much he and Grandad looked alike. I think Uncle Leon was just a little older than Grandad, maybe a year or two. Granny dated him before she got with Grandad. He was in pretty bad shape. :(

When I went out to have coffee with Mom and Dad this morning, every single cow was out there, and they were ALL laying down. It was so weird, I have never, ever seen all the cows laying down. Some were just relaxing and others you could tell were OUT, because their heads were on the ground. The tiny baby one was snuggled up to his mommy. He is the cutest little guy and I wish I could go pet him and give him love. He is timid, though. They are not petting cows. Ah well...

Really Cross Stitch

I wouldn’t actually say I’m a feminist. I believe in gender/gender fluid equality, I am proud to be a woman, I am all about the divine feminine and women’s power, and you will often hear me talk about how men have so totally fucked us beyond any hope of repair.. Wow, I guess I sort of am a feminist, I’m just a bit more quiet about it. Anyway, I bought this book a couple of years ago called Really Cross Stitch by Rayna Fahey. The patterns are political in nature, which I didn’t actually realize when I purchased it, but that’s okay, because political cross stitch will always be a thing. So far, I’ve done four pieces from this book. I kept two and gifted two. This is my favorite piece from the book, and I wanted to do it for my sister, because, well. However, while my sister is one to stand up when she sees injustice, and of course is super into woman power, she’s not got the activist energy that my other friends do. So I did this one for my friend Liz.
I did this one for a friend, but decided to keep it because it’s from a show called Father Ted, and I think it’s funny. I did her another one…
This one I did for my friend Rebecca. She’s a Star Wars fan, and this quote has been stitched and plastered all over Genereal Leia merch. I love the sentiment, and I love how it’s associated with General Leia (she was my hero when I was a little girl), so I thought it was more appropriate for her than the other one, though I can totally hear her saying “Down With…This.. Sort of Thing..”
And this is hanging in my bathroom. The guy who came in to redo our shower thought it was hilarious.

That's why we divorced. She was a muggle. Next wife's got to be a politico.

If you have watched The Thick of It, you'll get that title and if not, you should watch it. On November 5th, 2020, I sat in front of the TV, watching the election unfold, sick to my stomach that we would have another 4 years of who you can barely call a human being playing at running the country. I stitched this up while watching. I was pleasantly surprised the next morning when he lost. HE LOST. The pattern was created by MeowKapowPatterns on Etsy.
Then the idiot took classified documents from the White House and hid them in his fucking TOILET. Pattern by Subversive Cross Stitch. You couldn't make this shit up.

A grown man is upset because he can no longer be aroused by candy characters.

Y'all, Tucker Carlson has lost his fucking mind about the new M & M character not identifying as male or female and it's the talk of the fucking country. It's ridiculous and downright hilarious. He's mad because he can't fap to candy anymore I guess. A grown man is upset because he can no longer be aroused by candy characters. He went on a titty-baby tirade on his show and said "Miserable non-binary candy is all we deserve". And the cross stitch community DID NOT DISAPPOINT, no siree.

Thank you, ScreamingHeartDesign. I chose green because I like the green M & Ms.

We don't deserve Bernie Sanders

Bernie Sanders should be the President of the United States.  He has been fucked out of the nomination TWICE.  It's infuriating.

Well, we do have Joe Biden now and we are rid of the orange fucktard.  Not to get super political or anything.

This picture of Bernie at the Biden's inauguration went viral.  He looks like he's pouting, but really, it's January in DC so I'm sure he was pretty cold.

Naturally, I had to make a sprite...I love it.  I made it at Amanda's last night and we all had a good laugh.  Poor Bernie.
