Three updates in one day????...

I am on a roll today.  I got SO MUCH done!!!  Here is the last of what is finished today.  I have some resin currently casting, but I won't be making anything out of it.  I'm just testing some molds, and  they're not in the least bit cool enough to make a necklace.  One is a peanut butter cup mold and the other is a funky starfish thing.  BUT, I did get these done, AT LAST!!

Here are my cassette cupcake toppers.  I will be selling them at Moxie and on Etsy.

Aaaaand some of my favorite things- Word bubbles!

Etsy update

Just updated my shop again, and put some older stuff back up!

These are cozies for paper coffee cups.  They just weren't sewn together when we took the photos.

1.  Drawing small embroidery patterns.  This size would fit into one of those tiny 2 inch hoops.

2.  R. E. M.

I fell in love with this band when they came out with "Stand" back in... 89?  I became obsessed- I bought their unauthorized biography (which I think I may still have), posters, and their live video TourFilm, and I recorded every video I saw on MTV of theirs, including Unplugged (which I also taped off of the radio, because they played it in full on our local radio station in Houston), and there were a couple of specials about them that I taped, and I watched them over and over, because I was so crazy in love with Michael Stipe and Mike Mills.  I bought all of their albums, and then they came out with Out of Time, and I got that one, and that is the last one I bought.  In my opinion, most of their stuff post-Out of Time sucks.  I saw them with Radiohead in 1995 in Houston for their Monster tour, and they mostly played new stuff, so I was a little disappointed, but it was still cool seeing them, because they hadn't toured for YEARS.  But man, they had a REALLY good thing going for a while.  I still love listening to their older stuff.  It's SO good.

3.  The Hipstamatic app on my iPhone.

Hi?  I also got the lo-mob app,  which I will be playing with today.

4.  SoBe Lifewater.

My favorite flavors are those above, and one called Cherimoya punch.  Yummmmmm.

5.  Perler/Melty beads

I made these the other night, and a lot more, but these are the best ones.  I'm still practicing.

K, bye!

Cupcakes and tattoos

Cupcakes and tattoos are two of my very favorite things.  I had a fantastic weekend!

Friday, I had Pakistani food at Shalimar with a good friend.  It's one of my very favorite places to eat.  I then went and opened up my business account and went to Moxie to set up my display.  This isn't a very good picture, but it's all I have right now.  I took it with my phone.  This is my little store at Moxie!  It looks better now-  I have MUCH more hair stuff in the display on the right, and I have a coffee cup for the cozies to display one.

After that,  I went by Ginger's Needlearts and picked up two Sublime Stitching patterns:  Pirates Ahoy and Carson Ellis.  I needed more patterns I could make boy onesies with.  I went home and when Allen got home, we went to Freebirds for dinner.  Then we drove all the hell over downtown Austin trying to find an ATM for my bank so I wouldn't have to pay an insane fee.  For the record, I wanted to get money out before going to dinner, but Allen said it would be better to get it downtown.  IT.  WAS.  NOT.  But that's okay.  There are ATMs, but they're in weird places and there's no parking.   I got money out and threw a small fit because the ATM was being a jerk, and I could only take out so much, and then I calmed down and went to get my tattoo.  I only have one picture of it right now, I'll get more and post them soon.

Cara at True Blue is AWESOME.  She's beautiful, sweet, funny, and does amazing work.  Here's what she did to my arm.  It looks a little angry because this was the next morning, after it had been wrapped up all night, just after I washed it.  But it's lovely, and I am very pleased.  It's more beautiful than I ever could have imagined.  Just when I thought she was done, and that it couldn't get better, she'd add to it and make it even better!  I will definitely be visiting her for future tattoos!

Saturday, we ate breakfast tacos at Taco Xpress, and then I was very sleepy because I didn't sleep well Friday, so I took a three hour nap.  Then I went to my friend Haylan's, where we made these cute cupcakes.  She is an amazing cake decorator as a hobby, and she knows how much I love cupcakes, and she got the "Hello, Cupcake" book, and the "What's New, Cupcake" books, and we followed the directions for the duck ones.  Here is the result.  They're not exactly like in the book, but they're not bad for a couple of schlubs.

After yellow icing:

And here they are all done up!

I definitely want to try more of the other designs!

Well, that's all for now.  I hope you all had a good weekend!

Two new onesies!

Oh,  and a pillow!

Here's a pillow I made for my friend Lori's little boy.  He likes #10 on the University of Texas baseball team.

I just realized that there are some little paintings I did not post.  A HUGE thank you to my boyfriend Allen for taking these amazing photos!

And here are some new cute things for hair!

And here are some coffee cup cozies!  Yes, the edges are meant to be slightly frayed.  I like the deconstructed look.

And here are some more cute little quilled things.  I made a lot more but they're not photographed yet.

I can't wait to get the other stuff I did photographed.  It's so cute.  Soon, I'll make little sets of these for Etsy and Moxie.

Okay, I'm off to pack for the weekend, watch Mystery Science Theatre 2000, and make a pillow!
