Fabric dying 2/11/26

I am back with the stitching itch again!  I have only finished two this year, and I'm working on a super secret one for Allen for Valentine's Day.  He caught me working on it this morning before work.  I hope he didn't see it and know what it was!  I used one of the pieces of fabric I dyed last week for his.

I am in the mood to stitch spooky plants from Noctiflora Designs, so I chose two smaller ones from the patterns I have (because I'm also working on a diamond painting and will probably want to do some more perler bead stuff this weekend) and dyed some fabric especially for them.

I used Rit dye in Hyacinth for this one and I used the jar dying method.  I rolled the fabric up randomly and squished it up in random places to make a random pattern and it did not disappoint!  It's a little darker than I wanted but I still like it.

I wanted a light sage green for this one.  The Rit dye in Sage is a little too grey, so I added in a little of their Truly Green.  It's a lot more green than I wanted and I didn't really care for how it came out until I ironed and and really saw the cool pattern in it. So now I am happy with it and I think it will work perfectly!

I really love dying fabric and am happy to have learned a few different methods.  I have a giant piece I got for Christmas that I may cut a few chunks off of to do more dying.  I will probably do the oven method next and use both liquid and powder dye to make different colors on the fabric and then I want to try ice dying again!  That was a lot of fun when I did it a few years ago.
