Spring has sprung, and autumn's so well done.

I've been busy busy making things.  So far, I've made about 6 or so cards, a few felt barrettes, and some hair bows.  I have about 8 more bows cut out that I'll hopefully finish tonight, and then I have 7 coffee cup cozies to work on.  I'll post pics soon.

It has been absolutely beautiful outside lately.  I don't spend enough time outdoors, really.  It's just that it gets so unbearably hot here, that if I'm outside, I need to be in the water.  The past two years, though, during Spring, I've been making it a point to get out and do more things.  It's a good thing I've got a boyfriend who likes to go outside and take tons of photos.  I plan to do a lot of swimming this year.  I wanna go to Krause Springs again:

And St. Edward's Park

I took these pictures almost 6 years ago.  It's hard to believe I haven't been back there in so long.  I actually sort of forgot how to get to this spot, and I'm paranoid about getting lost out there.  It's really secluded.  But this summer, I'm going with some friends to find my way back here.  And I just may never come back... ;)

Something about this weather makes me want to go out and visit my parents more often.  I wish I could go every month.  I suppose I could, it would just mean either taking vacation days since I'm not off on both weekend days, or doing weird day switches that cause me to work 6 days in a row, which I do not like.  I'm going to see them soon, my mom's birthday is April 1, and my parents are having a big party on April 17th, so I'll be going out there to celebrate spring and her late birthday.  But I really love going out there when it's nice out, it's so pretty there, and I love to sit out on the porch while my dad plays his guitar, there's a nice breeze blowing, and I'm sewing or crocheting or doing some other sort of crafty thing on the porch swing.  haha that sounds like a Blue Bell Ice Cream commercial.  But it's kind of like that out there.   And when it rains there, it smells amazing.  And it's beautiful.

I just love visiting!  Anyhow, thanks for indulging my old pictures, I'll have to get some new ones of my favorite places soon, when I go back!  Goodnight!

  1. Gorgeous pictures. I love where your Mom and Dad live. It looks so peaceful and relaxing. There is nothing better than sitting on the porch! I miss sitting on the porch with my Mom and having chats with coffee. Definitely going to do that with her when I get a chance to visit Alabama again.

Enjoy these pretty days to the fullest!

  2. It's really nice out there. It's a little TOO peaceful and relaxing for me to be able to stay more than a few days. I'm a city girl. When I lived there again back in 2005, I was miserable about 90% of the time. There were certain circumstances that were the main cause of that, none of it, of course, to do with my family. I was just SOOO BORED all the time. And I didn't have any friends out there, and it's in the middle of nowhere, so I sat at home and went stir crazy. BUT, I do love visiting, I always have a good time, and when I go for the weekend, I never feel like I spent enough time.
